Moaning is more than just a sound!
Firstly, moaning can serve as an emotional release, and allows you to use your breath to exhale, thereby bringing oxygen to your body, your aches and pains. Studies have shown that moaning and vocalizing from cursing & shouting, to saying "ow" stimulates the brain and may help trigger serotonin release.
Secondly, moaning is affordable and almost everyone with the use of their vocal cords can do it! Most, if not all, of us with active vocal cords have moaned at one point or another in our lives. Even if you are not able to use your vocal cords, there are additional ways to let your body express a silent moan, which can have the same effect. It is all about vibration and intention. From a deep bellowing groan, to a high-pitched squeal of delight moaning can be a useful tantric tool.
Lastly, moaning is not a new concept. It can help you stay in the present moment by accessing how you feel emotionally. Whether your moan is due to physical or emotional pain, pleasure, grief, anger or discomfort, moaning helps you move through and communicate feelings. And what is not talked about often enough, is how delicious moans can be when accessed for all of life’s pleasures.
