The body is nonverbal
The body is a sanctuary
The body communicates with us in rhythms, cycles and sensations
We communicate with it through our moans, sighs, breath and movement
Our senses and feelings support this collaboration
We can reclaim our bodies
through this subtle yet profoundly intimate connection
Communicating our pleasures through
the energy of the moan
Our bodies are the sanctuary for our soul. If we weren’t in a body our souls wouldn’t be able to fulfill their human potential. Communicating with our bodies is essential to understanding how to be in balance with both our humanity and our divinity.
We are collectively shifting from the concept of the Divine outside of us, to a deeper understanding of the Divine within us while recognizing the sensual reality of being in a body. We are shifting to the age of listening to our wisdom, our feelings, our emotions from the inside out. Conscious breath allows us to access the parts of our divinity that once was closed off to us because of material world distractions, trauma, indoctrination, and the dogma that said we had to get our answers and our wisdom, from an external “authority”.
What if I told you that the answers have always been inside of you? That you are the authority. Your presence, your ability to love, feel, trust and surrender to your own will, to your own life, to your own freedom and sovereignty was always in you. And what if I told you that all you had to do to access it was to start with a simple sigh, a whisper, a moan, a hissss, a hum. To breathe, to vocalize, to use your belly and throat to feel the power of your own body.
Vocalizing helps bridge the gap between the material and spiritual worlds. For those of us who are, or prefer to be, nonverbal, moaning is a beautiful way for us to access our inner sanctuary without uttering a single word. It’s time to normalize moaning.

september EVENTS
Moaning Through the Chakras at Sex Down South Fast Approaches.
(The deadline to register is August 31)
MOANING THROUGH THE CHAKRAS
Sept 2-3
If you haven’t had the opportunity to register yet, now is a GREAT time. As a reminder, this intensive is a pre-conference event at Sex Down South; and even if you’re not going to Sex Down South here in the ATL, you can still attend this Moaning Intensive. (That’s why we made it a pre-con event)
This intensive is a great option for folks who tend to get overstimulated by large conferences. We get the space all to ourselves before the conference begins on the Sept 4.
Click here to meet my integration team and get FAQ’s about the intensive.
CELEBRATING THE BODY EROTIC
Sept 18-21
I’ll be co-facilitating, Celebrating the Body Erotic in Portland, Maine with Suzanne Blackburn, author of Reclaiming Eros in just a few more weeks.
(Scholarships are still available).
Celebrating the Body Erotic or (CBE) is Body Electric School’s flagship workshop, which began in 1986. I attended my first CBE in New York, in 2012. This workshp transformed the way that I interacted with my body, my sensuality, and my eroticism, and helped me verbalize my desires. My life was never the same. The collaborative explorations, and expertly guided facilitation inspired my deeper dive into Tantra and erotic embodiment work. And now, as an emerging member of the Body Electric School faculty, I get to be a guide and a witness to other beloved’s transformations. It’s a full circle moment.
You can watch the video of Me and Suzanne’s promo here.
🍂So excited to visit Maine so close to fall! Hope to see you there! 🍂
(DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS SEPTEMBER 16)
Still here? Great!
If you’re new to Black Girl Tantra here’s a little about me…
When I was a small child, I taught my mother how to hug. She would tell me this, later in life when I became an adult. As a child, I would innocently skip and cartwheel around as I offered hugs and massages to everyone in my family. Although my affection was taken advantage of, I never stopped loving, hugging and healing through the power of touch, sensuality and joy. Today, I continue to infuse love, life, joy and intentional touch, into my life as a body worker, MSW, a Certified Tantra Sacred Intimate, Certified Consent Educator and Ordained Tantric Shaman High Priestess. I see the erotic as life-force-energy, which is pivotal to this embodied work. Audre Lorde said it best…
“The erotic is a measure between the beginnings of our sense of self and the chaos of our strongest feelings. It is an internal sense of satisfaction to which, once we have experienced it, we know we can aspire.”
I facilitate experiential workshops with the sacredness of touch, eros, breath, and the heart-centered integration of sensuality, spirituality and intimacy, along with the integration of nature, the elements, planets and stars. Boundaries and consent practices are an integral part of my erotic embodiment workshops. I am a fat-positive queer, black, femme of Afro-Caribbean descent, who works with ALL bodies and CENTERS the experiences of black women/women of the global majority - trans and non-binary folks, femmes of all shapes, sizes and abilities included. My ultimate vision is that, eventually all bodies will come together to weave the sacredness of the erotic into our personal and collective lives for healing interpersonal ruptures, creating intimacy and harmony, resisting dogma, community collaborating and social justice. I founded Black Girl Tantra to breathe life into my big erotically embodied, global-community vision. If you like social media, you can find me posting pics and reels on Instagram.
